Refiloe Mokoena is a senior researcher with a Master of Engineering in civil engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Her research interests and applications focus on sustainable development in transport infrastructure, particularly the adaptation and resilience of South African roads to the impacts of climate change. Her work aims to provide cost-effective and sustainable solutions for road design and construction.
Refiloe has eight years of research and development experience and two years of experience as a junior consulting structural engineer. She has contributed to various multidisciplinary research projects that provide innovative and sustainable solutions to industry challenges. Refiloe has authored and co-authored several papers and technical reports and is currently registered as a Candidate Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
Refiloe’s expertise lies in the civil engineering field. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and Master of Engineering in civil engineering, both from Wits.
