Self-sovereign identity
Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) provides the capabilities to uniquely identify individuals or devices without having to compromise sharing of private information for authentication. Through our research we aim to provide a point of integration into existing systems which can capitalise on the features of SSI utilising third-party frameworks that implement standards and protocols to facilitate the use of verifiable credentials and zero-knowledge proofs to authenticate transactions. By providing a holistic solution that includes an administrative dashboard for managing verifiable credentials issued, facilitating verifications as well as a mobile application client to store and display requested credentials when required. This creates an eco-system that reduces the risk of identity fraud and centralised database cyber-attacks to acquire personal details.
