May joined the CSIR in 2017. His responsibilities include operations of outdoor and indoor solar photovoltaic (PV) testing facilities at the CSIR Pretoria campus to support various public and private entities on solar energy resource assessments and PV module reliability testing. He also focuses on establishing a CSIR PV technology market roadmap and monitoring and global trends in PV research, development and innovation.

Expertise: Renewable energy resources (PV), dependability testing, and PV characterization  indoor and outdoor measurement settings, PV system design, PV plant monitoring, Weather station operation and monitoring.
