Lumsden holds an MSc in Hydrology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His research involves applying hydrological and crop modelling, together with climate forecasts and projections, to assess the impacts and implications for the water resources and agriculture sectors. He has a particular interest in developing integrated tools that link the elements needed for such assessments including models, data and mapping.
